The Week Ahead - Term 3, Week 3
22 July - 26 July 2024
From the Head of College
Dear Parents and Caregivers
Concordia’s Strategic and Annual Plans are important documents in the Strategic Planning and Direction of the college. Both documents are aspirational, proactive and focused on ongoing self-improvement. The college has recently reviewed its Annual Plan as part of our School Improvement Plan. I have included, for your perusal, a link to this document which reflects the 5 components of our Strategic Plan. Each component, which has several foci associated with it, is being led and monitored by a member of the Leadership Team. Our current College goal has come from our Learning and Teaching component and is focused on the Pedagogical Teaching and Learning journey that Concordia is on. A copy of our Strategic Plan can also be found on the website.
Yours in Christ
Mr Anton Prinsloo

JC Years 3 & 4 Jump Rope for Heart - Register Now
We are excited to announce that Concordia Years 3 and 4 are participating in Jump Rope for Heart this year – a fantastic fundraising and physical activity program by the Heart Foundation.
By participating in Jump Rope for Heart this term, we're expecting to get our students moving. We’ll have ropes available on the school grounds and are encouraging everyone to help raise funds for lifesaving research and support programs.
Over the coming weeks your child will learn new skills, increase their physical activity, and learn about heart health. And the program will end with our school wide ‘Jump Off Day’ on Week 9 where your child gets to show off their new skipping skills to their friends.
When you register your child online, you’ll get access to additional skipping resources to help give your child a great reason to get away from the screens and get outdoors. Register and create your own secure webpage at jumprope.org.au/parents.
By signing up online, you and your child can:
- Easily raise funds online
- Track skipping skills progress and earn virtual badges along the way
- Post updates to your page so family and friends can follow their progress
- Access additional skipping resources
Your child should have a ‘fundraising guide’ flyer to take home, which includes further information on the program. If you didn’t receive this, visit jumprope.org.au/parents for all the information that you need.
If you have any questions about this program, please contact Mr Darryl Fry.
JC Year 3 Open Afternoon at Camp Cooby – Tuesday 23 July
If you are feeling a little unsettled about the upcoming camp or would just like to come and check it out, feel free to come along on next Tuesday 23 July between 3.30pm to 4.30pm.
We are very conscious that our Year 3 students have another ‘first’ in Term 3… it is their first school overnight camping experience.
While this is a little stressful for some students, it is majorly stressful for many parents. To assist both students and parents in this ‘first’, Camp Cooby have offered an opportunity for an optional pre-visit. This is a great opportunity for you to go out to the campgrounds and check out all of the facilities including the cabins, bathrooms, kitchen, dining hall and the overall camp environment. Camp staff will be there to field any questions from students and parents. The Year 3 teachers will also be attending as well.
Address for Google Maps: 239 Loveday Rd, Geham QLD 4352.
