JC Oktoberfest Raffle Hampers
The Stephen Street Campus Parent Connect is excitedly preparing for the upcoming Oktoberfest event scheduled for Saturday 19 October, from 4pm to 8pm. This event aims to not only raise funds for the college but to also provide an opportunity for the college community to come together again.
The SSC Parent Connect group have asked the Junior Campus Parent Connect groups to assist with a special aspect of Oktoberfest. We are organising a raffle, with each Year Level putting together a hamper with a particular theme. As part of this initiative, we warmly invite each JC student to consider donating a small item for their Year Level hamper that will be raffled on the day. We wish to emphasise that this act of generosity is entirely optional, and we truly appreciate any level of support you are able to provide. If you do decide to donate, feel free to provide single items, or band together with some parent friends to provide larger items if you wish.
Please see below for hamper themes and possible ideas:
- Prep – Art and Craft Hamper – art supplies, colouring books, pencils, texters, pipe cleaners, paints
- Year 1 – Baking Enthusiasts – baking ingredients, mixes, cookie cutters, sprinkles, recipe book, tins
- Year 2 – Pet Lovers – treats, toys, grooming products
- Year 3 – Birthday Party Pack – party decorations, items to go in goody bags, cake mix, candles
- Year 4 – School Holiday Survival Kit – movie tickets, games, zooper doopers, special nonperishable foods
- Year 5 – Beach Bonanza – beach ball, sand toys, towel, suntan lotion, hat
- Year 6 – BBQ Picnic Pack – picnic rug, voucher for butcher, citronella candle, reusable utensils, bbq sauces
We ask that donations are given to your child’s class teacher by Wednesday 13 September.
Thank you for your time and consideration. We're looking forward to sharing an unforgettable Oktoberfest experience with you.
JC Years 3 & 4 Jump Rope for Heart - Register Now
We are excited to announce that Concordia Years 3 and 4 are participating in Jump Rope for Heart this year – a fantastic fundraising and physical activity program by the Heart Foundation.
By participating in Jump Rope for Heart this term, we're expecting to get our students moving. We’ll have ropes available on the school grounds and are encouraging everyone to help raise funds for lifesaving research and support programs.
Over the coming weeks your child will learn new skills, increase their physical activity, and learn about heart health. And the program will end with our school wide ‘Jump Off Day’ on Week 9 where your child gets to show off their new skipping skills to their friends.
When you register your child online, you’ll get access to additional skipping resources to help give your child a great reason to get away from the screens and get outdoors. Register and create your own secure webpage at jumprope.org.au/parents.
By signing up online, you and your child can:
- Easily raise funds online
- Track skipping skills progress and earn virtual badges along the way
- Post updates to your page so family and friends can follow their progress
- Access additional skipping resources
Your child should have a ‘fundraising guide’ flyer to take home, which includes further information on the program. If you didn’t receive this, visit jumprope.org.au/parents for all the information that you need.
If you have any questions about this program, please contact Mr Darryl Fry.
JC Prep to Year 2 Swimming Lessons
Our Junior College students from Prep to Year 2 will commence their swimming lessons at the Concordia Aquatic Centre (CAQ) this term. They will participate in five lessons, across Week 9 and Week 10.
Please ensure that students have the following items:
- Warm clothing - this would be great for the students to wear to and from the pool as we don't know what the weather is going to be like
- Swimming togs
- Goggles
- House Swimming Cap (Compulsory) - available for purchase from the College Uniform Shop
- Towel
To avoid any lost items, please clearly label all of your child's items including their shoes, underwear and uniform.

Auskick Program - Parent Attendance
By way of clarification regarding a parent's requirement to be in attendance at the Auskick Sessions, please see the below extract from the Auskick Terms & Conditions:
9. Parents / Carers and Spectators Code of Conduct
By registering a child in the Program you agree that you will adhere to the following (being the Parents, Guardians and Spectators Code of Conduct):
Your child and other children and young people’s participation and enjoyment in AFL activities, programs or events are our primary consideration. As parents and carers your role is to support these outcomes by:
(a) encouraging your child’s participation in a positive manner;
(b) be present for the duration of any session or event that child attends at an Auskick centre. If you are unable to be present then you must ensure that there is another trusted adult (other than Program officials/personnel) that will oversee the child during the duration of the Auskick session or event;
Please note that if you cannot attend, you must organise for another adult to supervisor your child, specifically. The Concordia staff member in attendance does not meet this requirement as they need to supervise the event in its entirety, not individual students.
