Concordia Lutheran College unveils plan to transition to a single, integrated campus
Toowoomba co-educational school Concordia Lutheran College this week released a long-term master plan that invests in the College’s future. Concordia has set itself a building program which will integrate students from three existing campuses into one contemporary precinct at Stephen Street.
Concordia’s Head of College Anton Prinsloo said the construction of a new Junior Learning Centre and an Early Learning Centre during 2024 will have a myriad of benefits for the next generation of students. The new facilities will offer flexible learning areas, set amid landscaped green spaces to support outdoor learning and play.
“These development projects are vital to delivering our philosophy of contemporary learning with purpose-built, innovative facilities at Concordia,” Mr Prinsloo said. “Each of the proposed changes has been the result of many hours of planning by various stakeholders who have dedicated their time and efforts to define the future needs for Concordia.”
“As we bring in students from our Hume and Warwick Street campuses, it will increase collaboration across disciplines and departments, and further connect our campus in new ways,” he said.
“We are seeking to integrate new precincts within the broader campus that will ensure the intimacy of the College experience is retained.
“Our vision for the integrated Stephen Street Campus also includes a new Administration Centre, Resource Centre, Performing Arts Centre, Sports Centre and upgrades to the Boarding House.
“This is about ensuring students receive the best possible education and teachers are empowered with modern facilities.”
Mr Prinsloo said the plan has been shared with parents, students, and staff this week to kick start the conversation within the Concordia community so that the leadership team can harness the input from its stakeholders.
We are still fine-tuning the construction process, and we want to know what our families think about how we can make this a seamless transition for all involved," he said.
